All AR builds revolve around managing your Reaver's Glaive usage and soul generation, as well as the traditional bust-window setup and payoff of Demon Hunter.
Opener Direct link to this section
Your opener is pretty static, it'll go something like this:
- Immolation Aura 3 seconds pre-pull
- Sigil of Flame 2 seconds pre-pull
- The Hunt into the boss
- Reaver's Glaive
- Eye Beam
- Annihilation
- Essence Break
- Death Sweep
- Vengeful Retreat + Metamorphosis
- Death Sweep
- Annihilation
- Eye Beam
- Sigil of Spite
It's important to get an Annihilation in before your Metamorphosis and your second Eye Beam so you don't waste any Inner Demon procs.

Reaver's Glaive usage Direct link to this section
First of all, I highly recommend reading about reaver's glaive on the spell interactions page which details some of its intricacies. You should always have at least one stack of Reaver's Mark on the boss to increase your damage and soul generation. You should always have a glaive for any add sets that spawn in order to hit them with an empowered Fury of the Aldrachi, which will do a lot of funnel to the boss from Wounded Quarry. You should also make sure to have one glaive ready for your 40 second burst window, and ideally your 20 second one as well. You can also pool glaives to consolidate damage, which is particularly useful for any damage amp phases. When spending pooled glaives, you want to do the following:
- Throw your Reaver's Glaive
- Spend your glaivework pattern (Chaos Strike then Blade Dance)
- Continue your rotation until you cast one more Blade Dance
- After your unempowered BD, throw your next Reaver's Glaive while Thrill of the Fight is still up
- Repeat
