Single Target - FS

General Gameplay

This build relies around utilizing your Demonsurge and empowering them with Inertia.

  2. Pot and use trinket
  3. Felblade if needed for fury (ie you don't have puzzlebox)
  4. Eye Beam
  5. The Hunt
  6. Felblade/Fel Rush to proc Inertia
  7. Death Sweep (Demonsurge proc)
  8. Death Sweep
  9. Annihilation (Demonsurge proc)
  10. Vengeful Retreat and cancel with Metamorphosis
  11. Death Sweep (Demonsurge proc)
  12. Consuming Fire (Demonsurge proc)
  13. Annihilation (Demonsurge proc)
  14. Felblade/Fel Rush to proc Inertia
  15. Abyssal Gaze (buffed by Eternal Hunt and Inertia)
  16. Annihilation until Death Sweep is up
  17. Double Death Sweep

Rotation

The rotation is pretty simple - keep your cooldowns on cooldown and don't munch any procs. Line up The Hunt with your Eye Beam windows and use Death Sweep/Blade Dance as they come off cooldown. Immolation Aura is a higher priority fury generator than Felblade. If you're out of everything, you can Fel Rush while waiting for fury.

Priorities

  1. Vengeful Retreat on cooldown. You can hold this for a few seconds to line up with your burst window if needed, but it should line up naturally if you're using it on cooldown. Always use on cooldown while in meta.
  2. The Hunt on cooldown, preferring to buff your Abyssal Gaze with Eternal Hunt every 2 minutes and Eye Beam otherwise.
  3. Execute your Eye Beam burst windows
  4. Death Sweep/Blade Dance
  5. Avoid overcapping Immolation Aura charges
  6. Fill with Annihilation/Chaos Strike

20 Second Burst

  1. Vengeful Retreat to proc Initiative the global before Eye Beam comes up
  2. Felblade/Fel Rush to proc Inertia
  3. Eye Beam
  4. Death Sweep
  5. Death Sweep
  6. Annihilation spam

If Eye Beam and Vengeful Retreat are de-synced, hold Vengeful Retreat a few seconds for Eye Beam.

Talent Options

You can freely swap Burn it Out / Soul Cleanse as needed.

Mythic+ - FS

General Gameplay

Just like with other AFI builds, you'll want to focus on never overcapping Immolation Aura charges. Otherwise, you'll pretty much be using your cooldowns on cooldown.

Opener

Openers in M+ aren't really a thing since cooldowns will always be rolling from pack to pack, but if you want one to follow here it is:

  1. Felblade into the pack for fury if needed
  2. Blade Dance to apply Burning Wound with Screaming Brutality.
  3. Immolation Aura down to 0 charges
  4. Eye Beam
  5. The Hunt
  6. Fel Rush to proc Inertia
  7. Double Death Sweep (Demonsurge proc on the first one)
  8. Annihilation (Demonsurge proc)
  9. Vengeful Retreat and cancel with Metamorphosis
  10. Death Sweep (Demonsurge proc)
  11. Consuming Fire until out of charges (first one using a Demonsurge proc)
  12. Annihilation (Demonsurge proc)
  13. Fel Rush to proc Inertia
  14. Abyssal Gaze (buffed by Eternal Hunt and Inertia, also using a Demonsurge proc)
  15. Annihilation (Demonsurge proc) until Death Sweep is up
  16. Double Death Sweep (Demonsurge proc on the first one)

Rotation

For our rotation, you're just casting Immolation Aura to never cap on charges and ensuring you hit as many mobs as you can with the initial hit and the final Ragefire burst. You're also casting The Hunt and Blade Dance on cooldown, while lining up The Hunt with your next burst window. You have mini-burst every 20 seconds.

20 Second Burst

  1. Vengeful Retreat to proc Initiative the global before Eye Beam comes up
  2. Fel Rush/Felblade to proc Inertia
  3. Eye Beam
  4. Double Death Sweep
  5. Annihilation
  6. Immolation Aura (ideally in your Inertia window, but it will be tight)

1 Minute Burst

  1. The Hunt
  2. Felblade/Fel Rush to proc Inertia
  3. Vengeful Retreat to proc Initiative the global before Eye Beam
  4. Eye Beam
  5. Felblade/Fel Rush to proc Inertia after the first Inertia falls off
  6. Double Death Sweep
  7. Annihilation
  8. Immolation Aura (ideally in your Inertia window)

Meta Usage

We pretty much want to cast Metamorphosis on cooldown, following a similar order as in your opener to ensure you get every spell reset.

Talent Options

You can freely swap Burn it Out / Soul Cleanse as needed. Demon Muzzle is also a flex point, you can swap as needed.

Single Target - AR

General Gameplay

AR has lost a lot of its complexities with the Reaver's Glaive usage and soul generation after the changes in pre-patch. Pooling and spending souls and glaives is no longer as critical in maximizing your damage. You'll just want to make sure you're throwing your next Reaver's Glaive within 30 seconds of procing Thrill of the Fight.

Opener

Your opener is pretty small and simple, it'll go something like this:

  1. Immolation Aura pre-pull
  2. Pot/trinket
  3. The Hunt into the boss
  4. Reaver's Glaive
  5. Chaos Strike to apply Reaver's Mark
  6. Eye Beam
  7. Double Death Sweep
  8. Vengeful Retreat and cancel with Metamorphosis
  9. Double Death Sweep
  10. Eye Beam

Rotation

Your general rotation will be pushing your abilities on cooldown. AR is no longer as bursty as before, so you don't really need to set up for burst windows. A few things to keep in mind as you're playing this build:

Adds

If adds are coming soon, make sure to save a Reaver's Glaive for them. Ensure your Reaver's Mark is on the priority target (usually the boss), then use your empowered Blade Dance on the adds for large Fury of the Aldrachi damage into large Wounded Quarry funnel. It will look something like this:

  1. Reaver's Glaive
  2. Chaos Strike the boss to apply Reaver's Mark
  3. Vengeful Retreat
  4. Eye Beam adds
  5. Double Death Sweep

Reaver's Glaive usage

First of all, I highly recommend reading about reaver's glaive on the spell interactions page which details some of its intricacies. You should always have at least one stack of Reaver's Mark on the boss to increase your damage and soul generation. You should always have a glaive for any add sets that spawn in order to hit them with an empowered Fury of the Aldrachi, which will do a lot of funnel to the boss from Wounded Quarry. You should also try to have one glaive ready for your Eye Beam windows as well, especially ones empowered with The Hunt.

Talent Options

You can freely swap Burn it Out / Soul Cleanse as needed.

Mythic+ - AR

General Gameplay

AR has lost a lot of its complexities with the Reaver's Glaive usage and soul generation after the changes in pre-patch. Pooling and spending souls and glaives is no longer as critical in maximizing your damage. You'll just want to make sure you're throwing your next Reaver's Glaive within 30 seconds of procing Thrill of the Fight.

We're still playing around our Fury of the Aldrachi damage, as well as Ragefire and Eye Beam. To do this, we'll want to always empower our Blade Dance second.

Opener

Openers in M+ aren't really a thing since cooldowns will always be rolling from pack to pack. When going into a new pack, you should always keep one Reaver's Glaive available to start by marking a target in the new pack. Your 'opener' will look like this:

Afterwards, you continue with your normal rotation. This 'opener' will also be what your 20 second burst window looks like.

Rotation

You'll keep The Hunt on cooldown, which gives a full Reaver's Glaive as well as 1 soul with Broken Spirit. Similarly, you'll be casting Blade Dance on cooldown and never capping on Immolation Aura charges.

Reaver's Glaive Usage

In M+, generally you'll have a lot of souls and can pool them for difficult packs. You can read more about pooling glaives in the spell interactions page. You will always want to empower Blade Dance second for the buffed up Fury of the Aldrachi. Additionally, you will want to VR before your empowered Blade Dance to increase its crit chance due to initiative.

Meta Usage

We pretty much want to cast Metamorphosis on cooldown. You should ensure that both Blade Dance and Eye Beam are on cooldown first before casting since they're reset from Chaotic Transformation.

Talent Options

You can freely swap Burn it Out / Soul Cleanse as needed. Demon Muzzle is also a flex point, you can swap into Pitch Black if you need Darkness more frequently or Focused Ire if you'd like a longer stun on your primary target.
