Stats
Agility > Crit > Mastery > Haste = Verse
Stat weights are terrible and you shouldn't use them except to make general guesses. As always, sim your character to determine what is an upgrade.
Tier-Set
Starting in 12.1, where you have your tier set no longer really matters because Catalyzing gear no longer replaces its secondary stats. This means we'll just be aiming for pieces that are stated well for our characters and catalyze them.
2-Piece
The 2-Piece bonus increases Blade Dance, Chaos Strike, and Essence Break damage.
4-Piece
The 4-Piece bonus causes Essence Break to apply and benefit from Cycle of Hatred. This means that when fully stacked, it will bring our Essence Break from a 40 second cooldown to 30 seconds and our Eye Beam from 30 seconds to 20 seconds. This means it will de-sync the two. Additionally, the initial hit of Essence Break has increased damage and its debuff duration is increased.
Trinkets
- Zul'jin's Guillotine Technique is an agi/str trinket with a passive that has a set effect with our BiS weapon, Aman'muso, Warlord's Vengeance. The damage on it is also an execute.
- Font of Venomous Rage is a mastery trinket that does damage while channeling. Line it up with pot and VR for big crit damage from KYE.
- Voracious Heart of Ula'tek is a crit trinket with an on-use granting agi/str for a duration, and while that lasts gives your attacks a chance to deal bonus damage and further increase your agi/str.
- Keeper's Seething Core is an alright agi trinket with a haste proc
High-Priority Pieces
- The cantrip weapon, Aman'muso, Warlord's Vengeance, will be our best weapon not only because of the proc, but also because it will be at the highest ilvl we can achieve (9/6 mythic) and has a set bonus with our best trinket, Zuljins Guillotine.
- The cantrip neck, Aqirbane Reliquary, is a huge source of crit AND also comes at 9/6 mythic.
- The cantrip helm, Gaze of the Coiled Watcher is also good for us because it's a 9/6 helm. The haste is fine.
Crafting
For our crafting, we'll always want to use a Thalassian Missive of the Peerless to guarantee crit and mastery on the crafted piece.
Our best crafts will be a weapon as our off-hand (Note: the weapon you choose does not matter as long as it's 1 hand with agi. If you play both havoc and dev, you'll want the warglaive warglaive. If you're not sure, go warglaive for cool factor) with the Hunter's Ritual Stone embellishment and an armor pieces that we can put adorned fang on. You never want to craft in a tier slot (Head, Shoulders, Chest, Legs, or Hands). This leaves Belt, Wrists, and Boots that you can put use this embellishment. When crafting, we'll use a Peerless to guarantee crit and mastery on our gear. Ideally, we'll craft Silvermoon Deflectors for this.
At the beginning of a tier, a weapon is always a good option to craft as high ilvl weapons greatly impact our damage. However, they fall off later into the tier because they cannot reach the maximum ilvl. If you choose to craft a weapon early, you'll want to craft a and use the embellishment on it. Once you craft your 2nd armor piece, you'll remove your weapon embellishment to use the armor one instead.
With any remaining sparks, you can sim yourself on raidbots for your highest upgrade. However, you'll need to weigh crafting additional gear to spending your crests on bonus rolled pieces instead, since bonus rolls will be available at the start of the season.
Bonus Rolls
Your bonus roll priority is as follows:
- The Coiled Altar (2nd to last boss of The Venomous Abyss) (Aman'muso, Warlord's Vengeance and Zul'jin's Guillotine Technique)
- Ula'tek for cantrip items and font trinket. If playing dev as well, I would roll loot spec as dev.
- Mythic bosses from the raid, since bonus rolls will drop as 6/6 (or 9/6 from the last 2 bosses)
